About this hotel
General information
The Pucić Palace is a baroque town palace on Gundulić Square, in the very centre of Dubrovnik's Old Town. It was built in the 17th century for the aristocratic Pucić family, patrons of the arts whose protégés included the painter Vlaho Bukovac. The earthquake of 1667 split the building in two, and a small bridge over the lane still joins the halves. From 1895 it was Hotel De La Ville, later the Dubravka; restored under UNESCO guidelines, it reopened under its historic name in 2002.
Antiques, paintings and the original architecture sit alongside modern comfort, and each room and suite is named after a notable citizen of Dubrovnik, from the composer Luka Sorkočević to the poet Ivan Gundulić. Two restaurants, one opening onto the morning market and one on a rooftop terrace beside a baroque chapel, complete this intimate address.
Location
The palace stands at Od Puča 1 on Gundulić Square, inside the pedestrian-only Old Town. A hotel driver meets guests at the airport, and a porter escorts them and their luggage from the edge of the Old Town to the door; cars can be left in the nearest garage.
Spa
A beautician, hairdresser and massage therapist are available on request, working in the privacy of the guest's room.
Sports & leisure
The Old Town begins at the palace door. The concierge arranges excursions, reservations, car rental and yacht charters, as well as transfers to any destination.
Restaurants & bars
Restaurant Lucijan occupies the ground floor and an open-air terrace on Gundulić Square, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with a modern take on Dalmatian and Mediterranean cooking — Adriatic seafood, Croatian cheeses and prosciutto, and Dubrovnik rožata to finish. Restaurant Magdalena sits on a rooftop terrace among olive trees and herbs beside the baroque Chapel of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus; it serves an à la carte breakfast for hotel guests, then Dubrovnik classics and French dishes with regional wines such as Dingač and Plavac Mali.
Swimming
For sea swimming, guests can reserve loungers on request in a private section of Banje Beach, looking back to the Old Town and Lokrum.
Pets
Pets are welcome, with bowls and a pad provided in the room.
