Hotel Ambasador is a five-star hotel in Opatija run by Liburnia Hotels & Villas, set on the shore of Kvarner Bay. It rises above the beach and the Lungomare, a 12-kilometre coastal promenade, close to the town centre yet with a sense of privacy. A ten-storey main building and a five-storey executive block together hold 243 rooms and suites.
Interiors pair an intimate atmosphere with modern design. The hotel is known for its 1,300 m² spa, laid out on Feng Shui principles and devoted to the element of water, two seawater pools, restaurants serving Mediterranean cooking with Kvarner fish and local wines, and up-to-date meeting facilities. The Liburnia breakfast showcases regional produce – potato polenta, island skuta cheese, figs, mussels and sardines, Istrian pork and Kvarner rue brandy.
Location
The hotel stands in Opatija near the town centre, above Slatina beach and the Lungomare promenade, with the sandy Tomaševac beach below. Valet parking, a garage and electric-vehicle charging are available.
Spa
Wellness & Spa Ambasador covers 1,300 m², designed on Feng Shui principles with programmes themed around water. The spa relax zone, for guests aged 16 and over, includes Finnish and soft Finnish saunas, a Turkish bath, a vertical Kneipp, an ice fountain, heated loungers and a seven-person whirlpool; the sauna area is swimwear-free. There is also a multi-functional spa room, massage and beauty rooms, a gym with Matrix equipment and a private spa for two.
Sports & leisure
A daily programme offers morning workouts, SUP tours, vinyasa yoga, Pilates and power Pilates, with restorative yoga, VR mindfulness and deep-relaxation sessions using acupressure and breathing techniques for slower days. Summer evenings bring live music on the terrace, the hotel helps plan excursions to national parks and cultural landmarks in the region, and a football and basketball court and an open-air theatre are nearby.
For children
The LIRI Kid’s Club for ages 4–12 runs themed days with hands-on workshops, arts and crafts, treasure hunts, tournaments, games and face painting. There is a children’s playground near the hotel and a children’s area on Tomaševac beach, and baby cots are free subject to availability.

Dining leans on fresh Kvarner produce and local wines:
- La Fourchette D’Or – the hotel restaurant, with a buffet, a good wine list and live music in the evening
- Cubo – an à la carte fine-dining restaurant

Swimming
An outdoor seawater pool (25 × 11.58 m) with loungers and parasols, and an indoor pool with heated seawater (15 × 5.6 m, around 29°C). The hotel’s beach, equipped with loungers and parasols, holds a Blue Flag, and the sandy Tomaševac beach lies just below.
Pets
Pets up to 25 kg are accepted for a daily charge and receive a welcome kit with a food bowl and cover on arrival.
