Boutique Hotel Alhambra & Villa Augusta sits on Čikat Bay on the island of Lošinj, where the water turns emerald and the air carries the scent of ancient pines. The hotel and villa pair historic Art Nouveau architecture with contemporary design, set within a carefully landscaped park. For more than a century they have welcomed guests in search of rest and restoration, and both are members of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and Virtuoso.
The culinary centrepiece is Alfred Keller, holder of one Michelin star and 17 Gault&Millau points, with a cellar of more than 550 labels. Guests in the Augusta Suite, Augusta Grand Suite and Luxury Suite have a dedicated butler. The concierge arranges transfers, luxury car and boat hire and tailor-made trips, and Villa Augusta can be taken in its entirety for a wedding or a stay with friends.
Location
The hotel stands in Mali Lošinj on the shore of Čikat Bay, on the Kvarner island of Lošinj, within a park of old pines. The sea is only steps away, with the hotel’s beach and sun deck directly below.
Spa
Cube Spa Alhambra spans 660 m² and draws on Lošinj’s long wellness heritage of pine forests, mineral-rich seawater, healing plants and fresh sea air. It has a heated indoor seawater pool, three treatment rooms with hand-painted wallpaper, a spa suite with a rasul chamber, manicure and pedicure rooms, a Finnish sauna, a Mediterranean bath, a shower circuit combining four different showers, tepidarium-style heated benches, an ice fountain and a fully equipped gym.
Sports & leisure
The spa gym, yoga and personal training with tailored programmes are on offer. The concierge can arrange boat or car hire and plan island trips to order, while the beach below the hotel and the pine park of Čikat Bay suit swimming and unhurried walks.
Restaurants & bars
Alfred Keller is a Michelin-starred restaurant in an opulent setting, with an ever-changing menu built around the finest Croatian produce, fish and meat, sustainably and locally sourced, and a cellar that includes rare Croatian wines alongside international classics. On the beach, Beach Bar Pasara is a relaxed bistro serving light dishes such as tuna and salmon sashimi, salmon and passion-fruit ceviche and salads, with fresh juices, sparkling wines and champagne.
Swimming
Below the hotel lies its own beach with a sun deck and the Pasara bistro, with views of the sunsets over Čikat Bay. The spa has a heated indoor seawater pool.
Rooms
Rooms and suites face Čikat Bay or the pine forest park, with the Deluxe rooms in the historic main building and the Premium rooms in a contemporary annexe. Interiors combine natural materials, soft anti-allergy carpets of natural fibre and marble bathrooms.
