About this hotel
General information
Waldorf Astoria Beijing sits among the hutongs of the old city centre, a short distance from the Forbidden City. The modern building holds 175 rooms and suites, where contemporary interiors meet architectural motifs drawn from the Ming dynasty. Beside the main block lies the East Courtyard, a separate wing in the manner of a traditional Beijing residence, home to the hutong suites and a three-storey villa with its own pool.
The hotel keeps a thread back to its New York namesake: the French restaurant Brasserie 1893 serves classics first created at the original Waldorf Astoria, and Peacock Alley recalls the bar life of 19th-century New York. A Cantonese restaurant, a patisserie and a spa with an indoor pool complete the picture, and a personal concierge helps shape time in the city. For celebrations and meetings there are a ballroom, eight event rooms and a historic Ming-era courtyard used for weddings.
Location
The hotel stands on Jinyu Hutong in Dongcheng district, 800 m from the shops and night markets of Wangfujing pedestrian street, 1.7 km from the Forbidden City, 4 km from the Lama Temple and 77 km from the Great Wall. Beijing Capital International Airport is 29 km away and Beijing Daxing International Airport 65 km.
Spa
Waldorf Astoria Spa brings Western techniques together with traditional Chinese healing practices. Every treatment room is private, with its own bathroom and steam shower. The menu covers massages, body scrubs and wraps, a dedicated line for men and facials using Valmont and Cellcosmet. Signature rituals include an osmanthus scrub and massage, a hot-stone massage with ginger and black pepper oils and bamboo stalks, a two-hour treatment designed for deep sleep and a 150-minute journey of scrub, massage and Valmont hydrating facial.
Sports & leisure
Guests can swim in the indoor pool with its loungers, train in the modern fitness centre and unwind at the spa. A personal concierge suggests routes around the city and arranges outings and local cultural experiences.
For children
Childcare can be arranged by the hotel on request.
