About this hotel
General information
The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong occupies the top of the International Commerce Centre in West Kowloon, from the 102nd to the 118th floor, some 490 m above sea level. The effect is of a hotel suspended over the city: every room and suite has floor-to-ceiling windows, framing Victoria Harbour, the towers of Hong Kong Island or the open sea and its islands. Interiors are quiet and warm – marble, soft light, the brand’s classic comfort – leaving the view to do most of the decorating.
The hotel’s best-known addresses are Tin Lung Heen for Cantonese cooking and Tosca for Italian, both on the 102nd floor, and OZONE on the 118th, at the very summit of the tower. The indoor pool and 24-hour fitness centre share that top level, while the spa, with eleven treatment rooms, sits on the 116th floor. A separate Club Level, with its own lounge, check-in and concierge, runs as a hotel within the hotel.
Location
The address is 1 Austin Road West in West Kowloon: the hotel rises above the Elements shopping mall, about 10 minutes from the Central business district on Hong Kong Island. Kowloon Station on the Airport Express line, Austin Station and West Kowloon high-speed rail station are all close by. Hong Kong International Airport is about 32 km away; the hotel arranges transfers in its own limousines of various sizes, and there is no shuttle service.
Spa
The Ritz-Carlton Spa is on the 116th floor, where eleven treatment rooms – two of them couples’ suites – look out over Victoria Harbour through panoramic windows. Facilities include a steam room, saunas, experience showers, a therapy bath and foot baths, separate men’s and women’s relaxation lounges and a menu of healthy food. Signatures range from a two-hour body ritual with pearl-antioxidant oil and a moonstone massage that opens with singing bowls to longer harbour-view spa-suite programmes with a three-course meal, along with a series of facials by the London brand 111SKIN.
Sports & leisure
The fitness centre on the 118th floor is open around the clock, with cardio and strength equipment, free weights, a sauna and steam room in the changing areas, personal training and group classes. The tea sommelier of Tin Lung Heen leads an introduction to Chinese tea, and wine lovers can book tastings of four flights, each devoted to a different grape or region. Board games can be brought to the room on request. The ice rink in the Elements mall is 200 m away and the West Kowloon Cultural District, home to M+ and the Hong Kong Palace Museum, 1.2 km; the concierge also arranges trips to Victoria Peak, the Big Buddha on Lantau Island, the Temple Street night market and Hong Kong’s golf courses.
For children
The Ritz Kids programme offers daily activities themed around Hong Kong, children’s menus (in-room from 11 am to 11 pm) and its own welcome gifts – a small backpack, robe and slippers, bath crayons and, for the youngest, a rubber duck. In the Grand Seaview Room and above, families can book the Night Safari in advance: an overnight camp-out in a children’s tent set up in the room.
Restaurants & bars
Restaurants and bars fill three of the tower’s upper levels, from Cantonese cooking to cocktails on the 118th floor, and in-room dining runs around the clock.
- Tin Lung Heen – Cantonese cuisine, dim sum and a fine tea collection on the 102nd floor, with seven private dining rooms
- Tosca – refined Italian dining on the 102nd floor, with high ceilings, fountains, chandeliers and views of Victoria Harbour
- OZONE – rooftop bar and restaurant on the 118th floor: cocktails, tapas-style plates, blue lighting and a sweep of harbour views
- Café 103 – lunch and dinner buffets of local specialities, international dishes and seafood
- The Lounge & Bar – all-day restaurant and bar overlooking Victoria Harbour: breakfast, light dishes, afternoon tea and cocktails
Swimming
The heated indoor pool on the 118th floor is open daily from 6 am to 10 pm, with a lifeguard on duty and towels provided. Alongside are indoor and outdoor whirlpools.
