Niccolo Chengdu

About this hotel

General information

Niccolo Chengdu is set in Tower 3 of the Chengdu IFS complex, in the business and shopping heart of the city on Chunxi Road. It is a city hotel of 238 rooms and suites set between the 5th and 25th floors: some windows look down on the roofs of the old Daci Temple and the Taikoo Li quarter, others over the IFS Sculpture Garden and its giant “I am here” panda installation.

The interiors take fashion as their theme — natural textiles, earthy tones, fine upholstery and contemporary artworks — and the room categories are simply labelled N1, N2 and N3, rising from compact rooms to spacious ones with separate work and lounge areas. Dining runs to a Tuscan kitchen, a Cantonese and Sichuan restaurant, a tea lounge and a bar with live music. For meetings and celebrations there are the Niccolo Ballroom, the light-filled Conservatory and Verona, a room with panoramic views over Taikoo Li and the temple.

Location

The hotel sits in Tower 3 of Chengdu IFS in Jinjiang District, on Chunxi Road; a metro entrance lies inside IFS, and Chunxi Road station is about a five-minute walk (Exit C). Daci Temple and Taikoo Li are within walking distance. Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport is around 25 minutes by car and Chengdu Tianfu International Airport about an hour, with an airport bus running from Tianfu to Chunxi Road station. The hotel arranges limousine transfers when booked in advance; the nearest railway station is about 25 minutes by car.

Sports & leisure

The wellness centre on the 6th floor has high ceilings and wide windows facing Daci Temple and Taikoo Li. Its gym, equipped with Technogym cardio and strength machines and free weights, is open to in-house guests around the clock, and every room has a yoga mat. Alongside is a 20-metre pool where private swimming lessons can be booked. Evenings bring live music in the bar, and the concierge team plans city itineraries, local tours and experiences tailored to each guest’s interests.

Restaurants & bars

Restaurants occupy the 2nd and 3rd floors, and in-room dining runs around the clock.

  • Niccolo Kitchen — a Tuscan menu with a contemporary approach to seasonal produce, an open kitchen and table-side service, from breakfast through dinner
  • Yue Hin — traditional Cantonese and classic Sichuan cooking, private rooms for business entertaining and special occasions, and dim sum buffets at lunch and dinner
  • The Tea Lounge — international and vintage teas chosen with a tea sommelier, sweet and savoury bites and afternoon tea
  • The Bar — classic cocktails, sharing plates and a live band from Tuesday to Sunday
  • In-room dining — Western and Asian dishes, 24 hours a day
Swimming

A 20-metre lap pool sits within the 6th-floor wellness centre, open daily from 6am to 11pm all year round. There are two saunas in the changing rooms.

Pets are not accepted, with the exception of guide dogs, for which rooms on the 5th floor are set aside by prior arrangement.
