About this hotel
General information
Bvlgari Hotel Shanghai sits on the bank of Suzhou Creek, a few minutes from the Bund, and joins two very different buildings: a 48-storey tower whose top eight floors belong to the hotel, and the restored Chamber of Commerce building of 1916, set in Italian-style gardens. Both form part of SUHE CREEK, a regenerated riverside quarter of homes, shops, art spaces and parks.
There are 82 rooms, 19 of them suites. Interiors speak the brand's language of matte black granite, pale travertine, polished teak and bronze, with Chinese touches such as black lacquer cabinets and marble tops set against Italian furniture. The old Chamber of Commerce holds a Cantonese restaurant and a triple-height ballroom; the tower's 47th floor has the Italian restaurant and bar, with a roof terrace above. Service is discreet and personal: check-in in the room, help with packing and unpacking, breakfast at any hour, and a round-the-clock personal butler for suite guests.
Location
The hotel stands on the bank of Suzhou Creek in central Shanghai, at Lane 108 North Shanxi Road: the Bund is a few minutes away, the museums of People's Square about eight minutes, and Yuyuan Garden and Xintiandi are close by. The upper floors look across to the Bund, the Huangpu River and the Pudong skyline. Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport is about 35 minutes by car, Shanghai Pudong International Airport about 45 minutes.
Spa
The Bvlgari Spa and its fitness centre cover 2,000 m² in a quiet part of the complex among the gardens. There are eight treatment rooms, including two couples' suites with their own sauna. Face and body treatments use La Mer products, and some rituals draw on traditional Chinese medicine. The spa is open daily from 10am to 10pm.
Sports & leisure
The Bvlgari Gymnasivm is open to guests around the clock: it starts with a digital fitness assessment that shapes a personal training plan, a library of on-demand workouts is available in the room, and a personal trainer is on hand daily from 7am to 10pm. A treadmill, exercise bike or rowing machine can be set up in the room, and MomoDesign carbon-fibre bicycles are available for exploring the city.

Restaurants & bars
Dining divides between Italian cooking in the tower and Cantonese cuisine in the historic Chamber of Commerce building.
- Il Ristorante — contemporary Italian cooking on the 47th floor with city views, and a wine list strong in organic and biodynamic labels and rare champagnes; lunch and dinner;
- Bao Li Xuan — refined Cantonese cuisine and Shanghainese dishes on the third floor of the Chamber of Commerce, old-Shanghai décor, six private dining rooms, a walk-through wine cellar, baijiu, yellow wine and a tea list;
- The Bvlgari Bar — 47th-floor bar around an oval counter of hand-hammered bronze, classic Italian cocktails and a sunset aperitivo with canapés; outdoor terrace above the river;
- La Terrazza — Riviera-style rooftop terrace with teak decking, armchairs and curtained cabanas, evening drinks against the Shanghai skyline;
- The Bvlgari Lounge — fireside lounge with garden views for desserts and afternoon tea with the La Pasticceria collection of Italian pastries;
- Il Giardino — the Italian garden in front of the lounge, used for private parties and receptions;
- Bvlgari Dolci — chocolate boutique with handmade chocolates and seasonal collections.
Swimming
A 25-metre heated indoor pool is the centrepiece of the spa, framed by columns that recall a Roman bath, with louvred teak on the ceiling and a skylight wall that brings daylight to an indoor tropical garden. The pool is open daily from 7am to 10pm.
Rooms
