General information
The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman sits on Seven Mile Beach on the island’s west coast, its grounds running from the sea across to a quiet harbour on the North Sound side. The resort is set in two buildings, the Ocean Tower by the water and the Resort Tower overlooking gardens and harbour, with The Great Lawn between them. Interiors pair modern coastal restraint with mid-century Caribbean style, and local artwork hangs in the rooms and suites.
It is a large resort that works as well for families as for a quiet spa stay, with a nine-hole golf club, a tennis centre, its own spa, two pools, a children’s water park and six restaurants and lounges, among them the seafood restaurant Blue by Eric Ripert. Club-level guests use The Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge, with its own concierge and food served through the day, and butler service is part of the suites.
Location
The resort lies on Seven Mile Beach on Grand Cayman’s west coast, with its golf course on the far side of the grounds looking over the North Sound. The international airport in George Town is about 6 km away. The hotel runs no shuttle of its own; guests arriving by car have complimentary valet parking and electric-car charging.
Spa
The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Grand Cayman opens daily, with a steam room, a plunge pool, a hydrotherapy bath, a whirlpool tub and separate relaxation lounges for men and women, where vibroacoustic beds play soundscapes. Treatments use ESPA and 111SKIN. Signatures include The Art of Wellness Massage, with guided breathing, salt stones and rose quartz crystals, the Exosome Regeneration Facial and Gift from the Ocean, an algae or marine-mud body wrap. The spa also offers a consultation with a personal wellness plan, a thermal circuit with vibroacoustic meditation and a floating sound bath at sunrise. Massages and the spa facilities are for guests aged 18 and over.
Sports & leisure
The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club is a nine-hole, par-36 course of about 3.2 km overlooking the North Sound, with a putting green, a golf school, lessons, equipment hire and an indoor Trackman simulator. The tennis centre has four courts (two hard, two TitanTrax), five pickleball courts, a basketball court, coaching and its own shop. The fitness centre, equipped by Technogym, has a sauna and steam room, group classes and personal training.
On the beach, snorkel gear, kayaks, water trikes, floating rafts and water hammocks are free to use, and instructors give snorkelling lessons every day. Guests can take sailing lessons, go out on a Hobie Wave, paddle a kayak towards the sunset or join a sail-and-snorkel trip. The Ambassadors of the Environment programme leads mangrove kayaking, night snorkelling and reef talks, while a Boston Whaler and the Sapphire power catamaran are available for private outings to Starfish Point and the coral reef. Diving is arranged through a partner dive centre nearby, and island tours and helicopter flights can be booked.
For children
Children have Starfish Cay, a water park with a zero-entry splash pool, water jets, gentle slides and a tipping bucket waterfall, as well as a separate children’s pool and the Wave Game Room. The Ambassadors of the Environment programme introduces children and parents together to marine life and island nature, the golf club teaches young players free of charge, and The Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge has a corner for children’s arts and crafts.
Restaurants & bars
Six restaurants and lounges range from Caribbean to Japanese cooking, backed by in-room dining around the clock.
- Blue by Eric Ripert — seafood in an oceanfront setting, dinner Tuesday to Saturday, formal dress
- Seven — a steakhouse on Seven Mile Beach with prime cuts, seafood and a considered wine list; breakfast too
- Saint June — open-air dining on the beach, Caribbean cooking with South American touches, lunch and dinner
- Taikun — Japanese, with sushi and omakase, dinner
- Andiamo Circolo Sportivo — Italian on the shore, with house-made pasta, lunch and dinner
- Silver Palm — a lounge serving light bites and afternoon tea by day and an extensive rum selection, cigars and live music in the evening
Swimming
The resort opens onto Seven Mile Beach, with powder-fine sand and warm, clear Caribbean water; there are hammocks on the sand, and cabanas and day beds can be reserved. The main Ocean Pool has a whirlpool and a water slide, and the Harbour Club Pool sits on the harbour side, both with cabanas to book. The pools are open daily from 7:00 to 19:00.
Pets
Pets are welcome: up to two per room, each weighing up to 9 kg, with a pet fee and a cleaning fee charged per stay.
Rooms
Rooms are spread across the Ocean Tower and the Resort Tower: every guest room measures 43 m² and has a balcony, and club rooms come with access to The Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge, its own concierge, food through the day and a juice bar at breakfast. Residential suites with kitchens and terraces, presidential suites and a top-floor penthouse suit families and longer stays.
Each room has a marble bathroom with a separate bathtub and shower, Diptyque toiletries, Frette robes, a minibar and mini fridge, a coffee and tea maker, a safe and Wi-Fi.
