General information
Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa sits at the northern end of Seven Mile Beach on Grand Cayman, in West Bay, on a rise about 7 m above the sea, so the turquoise water is in view even from the ground-floor living room. The resort has 264 rooms and suites, each with a private balcony and most looking out to sea through floor-to-ceiling windows; for more seclusion there are free-standing bungalows and a Beach House just off the sand.
The mood is open-air and easy: calm neutral interiors with flashes of tropical colour, gardens between the buildings and two pools. The resort works equally well for couples, families and groups, with The Spa at Seafire and its hammam, a kids' club and a water-play area, several restaurants and a cocktail bar, a Technogym fitness centre and the Seafire Supply Co. shop. In Kimpton fashion, guests are invited to an evening reception, and pets of any size are made welcome.
Location
The resort lies at the northern end of Seven Mile Beach in West Bay, a 15–20-minute drive from the international airport in George Town. The hotel runs no airport shuttle, as island regulations do not allow it, so guests arrive by taxi or rental car; there is on-site parking with EV charging points. Camana Bay and George Town, with their shops and restaurants, are easy to reach by taxi, public bus or car, and the concierge arranges trips around the island, such as a catamaran crossing to Rum Point.
Spa
The Spa at Seafire has seven treatment rooms, a relaxation lounge and a spa garden with a jacuzzi and a cold plunge pool, along with a steam room and a hammam for a traditional cleansing ritual. The menu covers massages, body scrubs and wraps, facials and waxing, and a full-service salon offers hair styling, manicures, pedicures and beauty treatments. The spa is open daily from 9:00 to 18:00.
Sports & leisure
There is plenty to do on and around the beach:
- Water sports at the resort – kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, jet skis and Hobie Cat sailing lessons
- With partner Red Sail Sports – diving courses, snorkelling and an eco-safari across the North Sound on a power catamaran
- A fitness centre of about 164 m² with Technogym cardio and weight machines and partial sea views; yoga on the lawn and paddleboard yoga
- Cruiser bikes for rides to Camana Bay
- Golf off site – 18 holes at North Sound Golf Club and 9 holes at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club
- Concierge outings – a night trip to a bioluminescent bay, the botanic park on Grand Cayman, submarine tours and a catamaran to Rum Point
For children
Camp Seafire is the resort's kids' club for ages 5–12, with half-day (9:00–12:00 or 13:00–17:00) and full-day sessions built around daily themes, games and outdoor and water activities. In the evening, from 17:00 to 22:00, the Camp Seafire team offers babysitting for children over three, booked in advance. Splash, the water-play area on Seven Mile Beach run by the same team, has slides, shallow splash pools and sprayers for children aged 12 and under with an adult, and is open daily from 10:00 to 16:00.
Restaurants & bars
Five venues cover the day from morning coffee to evening cocktails, and in-room dining runs around the clock.
- Ave – coastal Mediterranean cooking with local seafood, steaks and island produce; breakfast, dinner and Sunday brunch in the dining room or on the terrace above Seven Mile Beach
- Avecita – a Spanish restaurant within Ave with a wood-fired exhibition kitchen: a chef's counter for up to ten with a tasting menu, and communal tables for tapas, with Spanish wines and sherries
- Library by the Sea – a cocktail bar with book-inspired drinks, wines, vintage spirits and light bites; live jazz, blues or piano on some evenings
- Nana Cabana – the pool bar, with cocktails, cold beer, fresh fruit and light snacks
- Seafire Pantry – a café off the lobby with espresso drinks, matcha, local kombucha on tap, pastries, sandwiches, salads and picnics packed for island outings
Swimming
The resort opens straight onto Seven Mile Beach, a long crescent of soft coral sand where the sea stays at about 26–30 °C all year; a boardwalk and sandy paths run along the shore. Guests can reserve beach daybeds for up to four and shaded clamshells for two, each with extra sun loungers, an umbrella and a cooler of drinks, while the Seabridge Cabana between the pool and the beach takes up to six. There are two pools: the family-friendly Seafire Pool, set among greenery with loungers, towel service, private cabanas and its own bar, is open from 7:00 to 18:00.
Pets
Pets of any size, weight or breed are welcome at no extra charge and with no deposit. Dog bowls and beds are available on request, there is a pet-walking area, and pet sitting can be arranged.
Rooms
The 264 rooms and suites fill floors two to ten of the main building, and almost all of them look out over the water, from rooms and studios to family suites and the Presidential Suite. At ground level, close to the sand, stand free-standing bungalows and a Beach House.
Every room has a private balcony, floor-to-ceiling windows (in most rooms), Frette linen, air conditioning, a work space, a safe, high-speed Wi-Fi, a spa minibar, a hair dryer and bath amenities, with 24-hour in-room dining and daily housekeeping.
