Rosewood Hotel Georgia

About this hotel

General information

Rosewood Hotel Georgia is a restored 1927 landmark in the historic heart of Vancouver, on the corner of West Georgia and Howe Streets. For decades it was regarded as the most glamorous address in Western Canada, and the stories of the famous names who passed through its halls now live on in the cocktails poured at the 1927 Lounge.

Behind the stately façade, Jazz Age polish meets a quieter Pacific Northwest sensibility: terrazzo floors, deep green velvet and work by Canadian artists. There are 156 rooms, 22 of them suites, six restaurants and bars, Sense, A Rosewood Spa and a saltwater lap pool. The hotel sees itself as a creative hub for the city, as much for Vancouverites as for travellers.

Location

The hotel stands at 801 West Georgia Street in downtown Vancouver, a block from Vancouver City Centre station; some rooms look across to the Vancouver Art Gallery, and Stanley Park is a few minutes away. Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is 14 km away, about 35 minutes by car or around 25 minutes on the Canada Line SkyTrain. The concierge arranges sedan and limousine transfers to the airport, the cruise terminal, floatplanes and helicopters.

Spa

Sense, A Rosewood Spa occupies the fourth floor and is reserved for guests aged 16 and over. Its treatments take their cue from Vancouver’s natural setting: hot stone and tailored aromatherapy massages, facials and body wraps, with the Vancouver Signature Sensation combining a sea salt scrub, hydrotherapy and a hydrating massage. Afterwards guests unwind in a quiet relaxation lounge with herbal tea and light snacks, and the pool, dry sauna and cold plunge are next door.

Sports & leisure
  • 24-hour fitness centre with Technogym equipment and an Artis Climb machine
  • private yoga, Pilates and aerobics sessions, and small-group classes for up to five
  • a 16-metre lap pool, dry sauna and cold plunge

For children

Children under 19 stay free in their parents’ room using existing bedding; a rollaway bed can be added in some room types and cribs are available on request. The Rose Buds family programme provides wireless baby monitors, in-room baby-proofing, child-sized robes and slippers, Birch Babe toiletries, baby baths and bottle warmers, as well as babysitting and a children’s in-room dining menu. The spa is for guests aged 16 and over.

Restaurants & bars

The hotel’s restaurants and bars draw on Vancouver’s multicultural character, and in-room dining runs around the clock.

  • Hawksworth Restaurant — chef David Hawksworth’s contemporary Canadian cooking built on local, seasonal produce, with crafted cocktails
  • Reflections The Garden Terrace — a year-round rooftop garden for breakfast, globally inspired tapas, weekend brunch, cocktails and British Columbian wines
  • 1927 Lounge — refined dishes and cocktails among local art and live music, with The Art of Tea afternoon tea at weekends
  • The Georgia Bar — the lobby’s centrepiece, all dark wood and marble, for classic cocktails, small bites and whisky tastings
  • Prophecy — a bar beneath the historic building devoted to the art of unhurried conversation
  • Bel Café — pastries, soups, sandwiches and salads from David Hawksworth’s kitchen
Swimming

The heated 16-metre indoor saltwater lap pool sits beside the spa, filled with natural light and finished in Art Deco style. Alongside are a dry sauna and a cold plunge kept at 4 °C for contrast therapy. The Lord Stanley Suite and the Rosewood Suite each have their own hot tub on a rooftop terrace.

Pets

One dog or cat of up to 11 kg is welcome per room for a one-time fee that includes pet amenities. Pets are not allowed in the restaurants and bars.
