General information
Faubourg 21 is an intimate hotel-residence in a listed 19th-century townhouse at the heart of Brussels. The house was conceived as a fragment of a French château transplanted to the city, and that ambition still shows in its carved wood panelling, grand staircase, restored mouldings and inner garden. It feels more like a private home than a hotel, with books and artworks throughout, soft scents and rare objects in every room.
Bespoke interiors set bold colour and graphic furniture against the neoclassical fabric of the building. Rooms, duplexes and suites are spread between the main house and a rear outbuilding, and a residence for longer stays adds apartments with fully equipped kitchens. The house also holds Chaga, a top-floor gastronomic restaurant; the bistro Bistra Noisette; the hidden Bar 21; a private wellness area with Valmont treatments in the former kitchens; and a terrace looking over the rooftops of Brussels. Service is discreet and unhurried, and the hotel welcomes guests aged 12 and over.
Location
The hotel stands on Avenue Marnix in central Brussels, a short walk from the Royal Palace and the Sablon, among the city’s museums, galleries and cultural institutions. Limousine transfers with a private driver from the airport or the railway station can be arranged on request.
Spa
Ré Labo de Beauté is a private wellness area set in the townhouse’s former kitchens. Three treatment rooms are styled as small boudoirs, there is a sauna, and treatments use products by the Swiss house Valmont. The space is also open to non-residents, and booking ahead is advised.
Sports & leisure
A private fitness room occupies the former stables and is free for hotel guests; certified coaches offer personal sessions for every level by prior booking. The round-the-clock concierge team books restaurant tables, arranges personal shopping and plans tailor-made ways to discover the city, while a dedicated long-stay service turns a suite into a private residence. A terrace with views over the Brussels rooftops completes the picture.
Restaurants & bars
Dining is spread across three spaces under one roof:
- Chaga — gastronomic restaurant on the top floor with an open, fire-led kitchen and an enamelled lava-stone counter; five- and seven-course tasting menus, with vegetarian versions, change with the seasons.
- Bistra Noisette — playful bistro with a menu that shifts through the day, from breakfast at 7 am to business lunches and afternoon coffee with sweet treats, plus a festive Sunday brunch.
- Bar 21 — hidden bar among 18th-century wood panelling, with a collection of rare spirits and signature cocktails; the meeting point before dinner at Chaga.

Rooms
Rooms, duplexes and suites are spread between the main townhouse and a quiet 19th-century outbuilding overlooking the inner courtyard; each is individually decorated, with made-to-measure furniture and preserved period details.
The residence adds five categories of apartments with fully equipped kitchens, pairing the independence of a home with the hotel’s service.

Deluxe Room

Split-level room in the outbuilding facing the quiet inner courtyard, with a king-size bed on the mezzanine and a Parisian-style bathroom in white ceramic and blue stone with bath and shower. Connects to the Grand Duplex.
Suite Résidence Duplex
Split-level apartment under the eaves on the top floor of the residence, facing the quiet inner courtyard, with a king-size bed, a fully equipped kitchen and a shower.
Suite Résidence Deluxe
Bright apartment on the ground floor of the residence with city or courtyard views, a king-size bed, a fully equipped kitchen and a shower.
Prestige Room
Spacious, light-filled room with a king-size bed, made-to-measure furniture, a bathtub and a separate shower; one can connect to a Deluxe Room.
Heritage Suite
Suite with period character, where tapestries and wood panelling recreated by local craftsmen meet contemporary furniture; king-size bed, bathtub and garden view.
Grand Duplex
Generous duplex in the outbuilding overlooking the inner courtyard, with a warm-toned mezzanine bedroom with king-size bed and a Parisian-style bathroom with bathtub. Connects to the Duplex Deluxe.
Grand Heritage Suite
Nineteenth-century suite where restored heritage details meet modern furniture and assertive colour; king-size bed, bath and shower.
Suite Résidence Grand Duplex
Spacious split-level apartment on the top floor of the residence, with a private terrace over the inner courtyard, a king-size bed, a fully equipped kitchen and a shower or bathtub.
Suite Résidence Prestige
Generous apartment with a separate living room, a fully equipped kitchen, made-to-measure furniture, a king-size bed and a shower; city or courtyard views.
Signature Suite
