General information
Fairmont Royal Pavilion is an intimate beachfront hotel in the parish of St James, on the west coast of Barbados, operating under the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts brand. It occupies about 4.5 hectares (11 acres) of tropical gardens and beachfront and was the first hotel on the island’s Platinum Coast; its pale pink façade is the property’s signature.
All 72 rooms and suites stand directly on the beach: each has an unobstructed view of the sea, a private balcony or terrace and white sand a few steps away. A separate villa in the gardens can be taken with one, two or three bedrooms. Butlers look after the beachfront suites and the villa, and the atmosphere is calm and private, suited to couples and to families travelling across several generations.
Location
The hotel stands on the west coast of Barbados, in the parish of St James, directly on the white sand of Alleyne’s Bay. Grantley Adams International Airport is 29 km (18 miles) away, about 40 minutes by car, and the hotel can arrange transfers in a luxury vehicle.
Spa
Spa treatments are given where guests are staying, in the privacy of the room, suite or villa. The menu includes Swedish, aromatherapy, deep-tissue, sports and hot-stone massages, couples’ and pre-natal massage, facials, body scrubs and wraps, reflexology, Reiki, thermo-auricular (ear candle) therapy, and manicures and pedicures. Sass Hair Salon is also on site.
Sports & leisure
Leisure revolves around the beach and the gardens. Guests have a fitness centre, tennis courts and the Royal Palm Art Gallery, where local painters are often at work.

For children
Families with children are welcome all year. The sea off the beach is calm and warm, and there are connecting rooms, a children’s menu with room service and cots on request; the three-bedroom villa suits several generations travelling together. Special programmes for younger guests run at certain times of the year, including Christmas and Easter, and the concierge can arrange a babysitter.
Restaurants & bars
Dining is by the water, from fine dining to relaxed beachfront meals, and food can also be served in the room or on the sand.

Swimming
The white-sand beach of Alleyne’s Bay lies in front of the hotel. Its warm, clear water is among the most swimmable on the west coast, and turtles can be spotted while snorkelling just off the shore. Loungers and umbrellas are set out on the sand, with service both on the beach and by the pool. There is also an outdoor freshwater pool with a heated jacuzzi.
Rooms
All 72 rooms and suites stand directly on the beach, each with a private balcony or terrace facing the sea. The villa in the gardens can be taken whole, with three bedrooms, or in part, with one or two.
Rooms have air conditioning, a Nespresso machine and kettle, bottled water, bathrobes and slippers, a safe, an iron, satellite TV, a radio, a direct-dial telephone and high-speed internet, and the bed is turned down each evening.

A second-floor room with a king bed and a glass-fronted balcony furnished with a sun lounger and a dining table; up to three guests. Connection to a neighbouring room is possible.
Luxury Oceanfront 2 Twins
The same second-floor layout and balcony as the king room, with two single beds; up to three guests. Connection to a neighbouring room is possible.
Signature Oceanfront 1 King
A top-floor room with a king bed and panoramic views over Alleyne’s Bay and the sea from a glass-fronted balcony with a ceiling fan, sun loungers and a table with chairs; up to three guests.
Signature Oceanfront 2 Twins
The same top-floor position, panoramic view and balcony, with two single beds; up to three guests.
Beachfront Suite 1 King
A suite right on the sand with a king bed, an extensive sitting area and a private wooden deck facing the sea, with butler service. Up to three guests; connection to a neighbouring room is possible.
Villa Junior Suite 1 King
The whole upper level of the villa, with a private entrance, a king bedroom with dressing areas, a bathroom with a bath and a balcony of about 21 m² above the tropical garden, with a partial sea view. Butler service; up to two guests.
Villa 2 Bedroom Suite 2 King
The lower level of the villa: two bedrooms, each with a king bed and its own bathroom, a spacious living room with a dining area and a terrace opening onto the tropical garden. Butler service.
Villa 3 Bedroom Suite 3 King
The entire villa: three king bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, two at garden level and one upstairs, a spacious living room with a dining area, a garden terrace and a balcony. Butler service; up to seven guests.
