About this hotel
General information
The hotel occupies a 68-storey tower on its own 5-hectare man-made island in Bahrain Bay, right in the centre of Manama. A short causeway links it to the city, and every room looks out over the Persian Gulf or across the capital’s skyline. The interiors take their cue from sea voyages, in a palette of beige, green and gold that echoes the greenery of Bahrain Island, with a specially assembled collection of Bahraini art throughout.
There are 273 rooms, 57 of them suites. The property pairs city-tower living with a resort’s pace: a private white-sand beach, several pools, a dhow-shaped water play area for children and a spa set across four garden pavilions at ground level, with an Asian restaurant and a cocktail bar 50 floors up. It works equally well for business stays and for family holidays.
Location
The hotel stands on a separate island in Bahrain Bay, joined to central Manama by a causeway; The Avenues Bahrain shopping centre is a few kilometres away and can also be reached by water taxi, and the Bahrain National Museum is close by. Bahrain International Airport is 11.2 km away, 10–15 minutes by car; the hotel arranges limousine transfers, the concierge can book car hire, and self-parking is free.
Spa
The 3,485 m² spa is spread across four interconnected pavilions joined by paths and gardens. It has 17 treatment rooms, a daylit indoor pool, a steam room, a salt inhalation room, whirlpools, relaxation lounges with juice bars, and a TIGI beauty salon with a barber. The menu covers massages, facials, hammam rituals, wraps and body-contouring treatments, Ayurvedic Shirodhara and Abhyanga plus a full Ayurveda day, and shared treatments for parents and children, using Anne Semonin Paris, MCCM Barcelona and iS Clinical products. Facilities open 5:30–23:00 and treatments run 10:00–22:00.
Sports & leisure
Two fitness centres are equipped with Hoist ROC-IT strength machines, and a daily programme runs to jogging, spinning, yoga and Pilates, with a steam room and whirlpool to follow. Kayaks and stand-up paddle boards go out from the beach.
The concierge arranges private outings: a boat trip with captain to the sandbank of Jarada Island for swimming in clear water and snorkelling (gear on request), and a guided city tour taking in Bab Al Bahrain and the old Manama souq, Qal’at al-Bahrain with its ancient harbour – a former capital of Dilmun and a UNESCO World Heritage site – and the Bahrain National Museum, which traces six millennia of the island’s history. Visits to the Pearling Path in Muharraq can also be arranged.
For children
The complimentary Kids For All Seasons club looks after children aged 4–12 (booking essential) with face painting, team games, pretend play, arts and crafts, films and storytelling. Guests aged 10–19 have their own teen club, styled as a Californian surf shack, with vintage arcade machines, current games consoles and an ice-cream counter. The Dhow, a water play area shaped like a traditional Bahraini sailing vessel, has more than 70 water features, seven slides and a 1,200-litre tipping bucket, next to a separate kids’ pool. The concierge can arrange a babysitter.
