General information
Sandals Bahamas Nassau is an adults-only resort for couples on Cable Beach in Nassau. It comes in two parts: the main grounds on New Providence and its own small island, Sandals Barefoot Cay, a few minutes away by boat, with two beaches, a pool, a Zen garden and a seafood grill. Rooms and suites are spread between the East Bay and West Bay buildings and the two-storey Island Village villas set among tropical gardens.
The all-inclusive plan is a broad one: breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks across ten restaurants and two food trucks, drinks at eight bars – three of them swim-up – premium spirits, Robert Mondavi Twin Oaks wines and the in-room minibar. Scuba diving for PADI-certified divers, snorkelling, water and land sports, seven pools and five whirlpools, taxes and gratuities, airport transfers and the water taxi to the island are all included too.
Location
The resort sits on Cable Beach in Nassau, on the island of New Providence. Nassau's international airport is 7.4 km away, about 15 minutes by road; return transfers are included, and guests in selected butler suites travel by Rolls-Royce or Mercedes. The resort's own ferry, the Love Runner, runs to Sandals Barefoot Cay throughout the day in about five minutes, and the island can also be reached by kayak.
Spa
Red Lane Spa offers individually tailored treatments drawing on Caribbean traditions and natural ingredients, given in treatment rooms or secluded garden pavilions. There is a spa on Sandals Barefoot Cay as well, where massages are given on a quiet stretch of beach to the sound of the waves.
Sports & leisure
- PADI scuba diving: certified divers can dive every day except the day of departure – two one-tank dives or one two-tank dive – always guided, at depths of 6–30 m. Newcomers can try the introductory PADI Discover Scuba Diving programme.
- Water sports with equipment and instruction: kayaks, windsurfing, snorkelling, Hobie Cat catamarans and sailing boats, stand-up paddleboards, tubing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding and glass-bottom boat trips.
- On land: day and night tennis, pickleball, squash, basketball, beach volleyball, table tennis, shuffleboard, croquet, bocce, lawn chess, pool tables and board games.
- A fitness centre with panoramic views, Life Fitness equipment and group classes.
- Excursions around the island and beyond with local guides, arranged on request.
Restaurants & bars
Ten restaurants and two food trucks are part of the all-inclusive plan; dietary requests are handled at a culinary desk in the centre of the resort.
- La Plume – classic French cooking; breakfast and dinner.
- Butch's Island Chop House – steakhouse with grain-fed beef, fish and seafood; evening dress code.
- Tesoro – southern Italian pasta and Neapolitan pizza from a stone oven.
- Kanoo – pan-Caribbean dishes; breakfast and lunch.
- Kimonos – Japanese teppanyaki, cooked on a hot iron grill in front of guests.
- Soy Sushi Bar – sushi and rolls made to order.
- Gordon's on the Pier – grilled meat and seafood at the end of the pier, with sea views.
- Aralia House – open-air seafood grill on the beach at Sandals Barefoot Cay, with Bahamian and Caribbean dishes.
- Calico Café – beachside grill for burgers and salads.
- The Queen's Pearl – British pub serving classic dishes, open late.
- Coco Queen – food truck with Bahamian-style tacos and seafood.
- Sweets 'N' Tings – food truck for coffee, sweet treats and crêpes.
There are eight bars, three of them in the pools, plus the swim-up bar at the Beach Club on the island. A private candlelit dinner on the beach, in the garden or on a suite's own terrace can be arranged on request.
Swimming
The resort lies on a fine-sand beach. There are seven pools and five whirlpools, among them the Crystal Lagoon pool by the West Bay building, the Zen Garden pool onto which several suites open directly, and an infinity-edge pool in front of the East Bay beachfront suites. Sandals Barefoot Cay has two white-sand beaches – one for lazing, one for snorkelling – a lagoon-style pool with a hot tub at the Beach Club, shaded hammocks and private cabanas on request.
Rooms
Every category is designed for two and has a king-size bed. They come in three levels: Sandals Luxury; Club Sandals, with help booking restaurants, priority check-in, an in-room bar and a private lounge; and Butler Elite, with a personal butler, 24-hour in-room dining and private airport transfers.
Each room has air conditioning, a TV, a safe, an iron, a hairdryer, Red Lane Spa toiletries, coffee and tea facilities, a fridge stocked with water, juice, soft drinks, local beer and Robert Mondavi wines, Wi-Fi and a nightly turndown.
