Kristiania Lech

About this hotel

General information

Kristiania Lech was founded in 1968 by the Austrian skier Schneider, Olympic slalom champion at the Oslo Games — Kristiania being the city’s old name. The house stands in a quiet, scenic spot close to the centre of Lech, a five-minute walk from the slopes. Every room has its own colour scheme and interior, where Alpine motifs meet elegant classicism, Tyrolean warmth, Viennese Art Nouveau and touches of Africa and China, with works by contemporary artists on the walls.

A restaurant serving Austrian cuisine with an extensive wine list, a fireside bar, a sun terrace and services for children round out this intimate hotel. There is also a 20-seat conference room, parking, car hire, a limousine service, a shuttle to Zurich airport, and laundry and dry cleaning. Dogs are not merely allowed but properly looked after.

Location

The hotel lies in north-western Austria, close to the centre of Lech and next to a ski run, five minutes on foot from the slopes. Innsbruck airport is 120 km away and Langen railway station 17 km; a shuttle runs to Zurich airport.

Spa

A sauna and jacuzzi take care of après-ski recovery, and massages and spa treatments can be arranged in the room on request.

Sports & leisure

Its position near the resort centre and the pistes opens up a wide choice of winter and summer sports.

For children

Children have their own programmes, a children’s menu in the restaurants, cots and high chairs; babysitting is available on request.

Restaurants & bars

The kitchen keeps close to Austrian and Alpine tradition.

  • Kristiania à la carte restaurant — refined Austrian cuisine and an extensive wine list
  • Kammerzimmer — Alpine dishes in a snug fireside room
  • Terrace — lunch and dinner outdoors in fine weather
  • Fireside bar — drinks and light snacks
Skiing

The slopes are a five-minute walk away. The hotel’s ski and boot room sits right by the pistes, and guests are driven there by car.

Pets

Dogs are welcome, with dedicated care services on offer.
