About this hotel
General information
Pulverer Hotel sits in the centre of Bad Kleinkirchheim, within 7,600 m² of gardens and surrounded by the peaks and meadows of Nockberge National Park in Carinthia. The Pulverer family founded it in 1928 and still runs it, keeping a long tradition of hospitality and attentive service.
At its heart is a thermal complex of more than 2,000 m², fed by the hotel’s own healing spring, with several pools, saunas and steam rooms, a fitness centre, a beauty salon and treatment rooms. The hotel runs its own sports programmes in winter and summer, and the Loy-Stub’n restaurant, recognised by Gault Millau, pairs Carinthian dishes with Austrian cooking and wines from the house cellar. Four conference rooms seat 12–36 people, and the hotel also arranges weddings.
Location
The hotel lies in northern Carinthia, in the centre of Bad Kleinkirchheim and within Nockberge National Park. Klagenfurt international airport is 55 km away, and Spittal railway station is half an hour by car.
Spa
The 2,100 m² thermal complex draws on its own spring, which rises by the church of St Catherine. Facilities include an outdoor thermal pool (8 × 12 m, 27 °C) and an indoor one (8 × 16 m, 32 °C); several whirlpools, among them a two-level outdoor pool with a slide and waterfall; the outdoor troad-kast’n sauna alongside Finnish, herbal and infrared saunas; a classic steam room and a sea-salt steam room; herbal and aroma grottoes; the Rock Crystal tepidarium and a salt tepidarium with heated loungers; a cold plunge, a sensory therapy room, a fitness centre and a spa bar.
The Vital-Oasis area offers massages, therapeutic baths, wraps, Ayurveda, physiotherapy, aromatherapy and facials using !QMS and Phytomer products, with dedicated programmes for children and for men.
Sports & leisure
Winter brings downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, curling, skating and tobogganing; summer, cycling, mountaineering, hiking, rafting and water sports on the Millstätter See, Brennsee and Afritzer See. An 18-hole golf course is close by, and the hotel organises excursions and entertainment.
For children
Dedicated programmes are available for families, and babysitting can be arranged on request.
Restaurants & bars
The kitchen blends Carinthian dishes with Austrian and international classics:
- Loy-Stub’n — Gault Millau-toqued restaurant serving Carinthian, Austrian and international cuisine, themed buffets and wines from the hotel cellar; terrace tables in summer
- Lobby — afternoon buffet of soups, salads, snacks and home-made pastries, strudel included
- Fireplace bar — a wide choice of drinks
