About this hotel
General information
Grand Resort Zürserhof is a five-star superior ski and spa resort on the sunny edge of Zürs, at about 1,700 m, and a member of The Leading Hotels of the World. As early as the 1920s Count Tattenbach was taking in paying guests here in the English manner, fitting private bathrooms with gold taps, the first of their kind on the Arlberg. In 1955 the ski pioneer Ernst Skardarasy and his wife Hilde bought the 70-bed house; the second and third generations of the family run it today, and the hotel marked its seventieth year in 2025.
It now has 99 rooms and suites, its own spring supplying water throughout the building, a spa spread over five levels and a sports hall with tennis courts. The hotel sits in a private resort area, quiet yet close to the village centre, with the pistes starting at the door.
Location
The hotel is in Zürs on the Arlberg, at around 1,700 m. Innsbruck, Altenrhein and Friedrichshafen airports are each about 90 minutes away, Zurich about two hours and Munich about three; by rail, Langen am Arlberg or St. Anton are around 20 minutes by bus or taxi. Transfers and limousines can be arranged, cars are parked free of charge in the underground garage, and the road via Warth is closed in winter.
Spa
The Aureus SPA covers 1,700 m² on two levels. The first holds eight treatment rooms for face and body treatments, massages, manicures and pedicures, an Alpine hammam, the Aureus Private SPA for couples, a bistro and a shop. Upstairs are a panoramic whirlpool facing the mountains, a 350 m² sauna area (aroma steam bath, Finnish sauna, bio sauna, infrared cabins, cold plunge pool, herbal inhalation area, waterfall grotto and Kneipp circuit), the separate Aureus Lady SPA and the 180 m² Panorama Lounge with library, open fire and water beds. The Aureus SPA is for guests aged 16 and over; a La Biosthétique Hair Spa sits at its entrance.
Sports & leisure
A multi-purpose sports hall is set up for tennis, badminton, basketball, indoor football, hockey and volleyball; state-certified coaches teach on the carpeted indoor court, and rackets and shoes can be borrowed. There is also a fitness studio with instruction, morning ski-conditioning sessions and personal coaching. The indoor pool with waterfall and the family whirlpool are open to all ages, while the 38 °C Panorama Infinity Pool is reserved for guests aged 16 and over.
For children
The Kids Club takes children from age three, daily from 1 pm to 10 pm and earlier on request, with babysitting arranged for younger ones. Children dine together under supervision at 6 pm, then return to the club for magic shows, mini Olympics and even a junior bartending course. Teenagers have their own Teenage World, and the Family SPA offers a children’s sauna area with a steam bath and a low-temperature aroma sauna (up to 45 °C), plus treatments made with natural, preservative-free products.
Restaurants & bars
Dining revolves around half board and a weekly programme of themed evenings:
- Restaurant — Austrian and international cooking, with an Austrian buffet, fondue chinoise, a Mediterranean evening, a gala dinner and a dessert buffet; a cheese buffet of some 200 varieties and a sommelier for the wine list
- Bar and lounge — open fire, daily piano music, whiskies, cognacs, cocktails and a champagne list
- Sun terrace — lunch with a mountain panorama, right beside the pistes
- Aureus Bistro — light dishes and drinks in the spa
Skiing
This is a ski-in, ski-out hotel with direct access to the 305 km of pistes of the Arlberg. Lift passes are ready at reception, and there is a ski cellar with heated boot lockers, the Braendle sports shop, ski service and rental. Instructors from the Zürs ski school collect guests from the hotel, a shuttle takes children to the practice lift, and heli-skiing can be arranged.

Dogs and other pets are not permitted.

There are 99 individually designed rooms and suites: 20 single rooms, 36 double rooms, 26 junior suites and 17 suites.
Flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi, a sitting area and writing desk, and, depending on category, a Nespresso machine, bathrobes and slippers.
Single Room
A single room with a cosy sitting area, writing desk and bathroom with WC.
Double Room
A double room with sitting area and writing desk; most have a separate dressing area and separate WC.
Junior Suite
A light-filled space with sitting area, writing desk and generous bathroom; most have a separate dressing area and separate WC.
Executive Suite
Country-style elegance with wooden floors, separate living room with ambiance fireplace and bedroom, a walk-in wardrobe and mountain views; both suites are on the top floor and can be combined with a Junior Suite or Double Room.
Classic Suite
Two rooms for living and sleeping, an entrance hall with wardrobe, a separate dressing area, separate WC and a spacious bathroom; can be connected to a double room on request.
Superior Suite
A bright suite with separate living and sleeping rooms, an open fireplace in the living room, an entrance hall, separate WC and a spacious bathroom.
Balcony Suite
Living room with open fireplace, separate bedroom, dressing area and a large south-facing balcony overlooking Zürs and the mountains.
Executive Suite Deluxe
Living room with ambiance fireplace, separate bedroom plus an extra room with a 1.20 m bed, a spacious bathroom and a large balcony with views of the village and mountains.
Royal Suite
Two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and dressing area, a sauna or steam cabin, whirlpool bath, living and dining rooms with open fireplace and a large south-facing terrace; it can be extended to five bedrooms and comes with a private butler.
