About this hotel
General information
Grand Hotel Wien opened in 1870, designed by the architect Carl Tietz as a showpiece of the Ringstrasse style — the imperial grandeur with which Vienna was then lining its new boulevard. Its guests have ranged from Enrico Caruso and Johannes Brahms to Luciano Pavarotti, Plácido Domingo, Kofi Annan and the Dalai Lama, as well as U2 and the Spice Girls.
Classic interiors are paired with thoroughly modern technology. Dining is a particular strength: the panoramic Le Ciel, the Japanese Unkai, the Grand Café with its own Guglhupf cake, and a lobby bar with live piano. Five conference rooms and a ballroom host events, backed by a business centre, while the Grand Spa, a hair salon, limousine service, parking, laundry and dry cleaning cover everyday needs. Weddings and honeymoon programmes can be arranged.
Location
The hotel stands on the Kärntner Ring in central Vienna, close to the Opera, St Stephen’s Cathedral and the city’s main sights.
Spa
Grand Spa No. 605 occupies 200 m² on the sixth floor, with a sauna, steam bath, a separate women’s area with its own sauna, a relaxation zone, a gym and treatment rooms offering a wide menu of therapies.
Sports & leisure
A gym with modern equipment is part of the spa.
