Das Alpenhaus Gasteinertal stands in the centre of Bad Hofgastein, in an alpine garden with views of the Hohe Tauern mountains, a few minutes’ walk from the thermal baths and the ski lift. It pairs modern service with the character of a traditional Austrian spa town: rooms with balconies, a fine-dining restaurant, a cosy bar with an open fire and the two-storey Alpen Veda Spa, with its panoramic thermal pool and sauna area.
For business there are two conference rooms for up to 70 people and business services. Guests also have free Wi-Fi, a concierge, parking and an underground garage, laundry and dry cleaning, and the Gastein card, which includes complimentary services around the valley.
Location
The hotel is 200 m from the centre of Bad Hofgastein, beside the pedestrian zone and a ski bus stop, and 300 m from the spa park with the Alpentherme Gastein thermal complex. Salzburg International Airport is 114 km away.
Spa
Alpen Veda Spa spreads over two floors and 2,000 m². It has an indoor panoramic pool filled with local thermal water (31 °C), two jacuzzis (36 °C), herbal, Finnish and aroma saunas (the last with chromotherapy), quartz and aroma steam rooms, a salt grotto, tepidarium, laconium, an ice hut, a Kneipp foot bath, a variety of showers, a quiet room with heated waterbeds, a garden relaxation area and a vitamin bar. Face and body treatments use natural products, Hofgastein’s thermal water and Vagheggi Phytocosmetic.
Sports & leisure
The indoor thermal pool looks out over the alpine garden and the mountains. A 24-hour gym is equipped with strength and cardio machines, and yoga classes are held. The surrounding area offers cross-country skiing, curling, tobogganing, mountain biking, mountaineering, Nordic walking, golf and tennis.
Restaurants & bars
The restaurant, with an open terrace overlooking the park, serves Austrian, alpine and international dishes. A fireside lounge and a London-style bar pour cocktails and wines from the hotel’s cellar. Room service is available.
Skiing
A ski bus runs from the hotel to the Schlossalm lift, about 2 min away; winter here means downhill skiing and snowboarding.
