General information
Spicers Peak Lodge sits more than 1,100 metres above sea level in Queensland’s Scenic Rim, on over 8,000 acres of wilderness wrapped on every side by Main Range National Park. The building takes its lead from the land — local stone, rich timber and wide windows framing the park’s ridgeline — while the interiors are warm and textured, with stone fireplaces.
The lodge is all-inclusive: every meal at The Peak restaurant, drinks from wines and cocktails to soft drinks, a minibar replenished daily, guided walks and the infinity pool are all part of the stay. Guests choose between suites in the main lodge and standalone one- or two-bedroom private lodges, and there is Spa Anise as well as a long menu of outings, from mountain hikes to helicopter flights over the wine country.
Location
Maryvale in the Scenic Rim, Queensland, about two hours’ drive from Brisbane and a short drive from Warwick. Valet parking on site is complimentary.
Spa
Spa Anise is a purpose-built mountaintop retreat with single and double treatment rooms, a plunge spa pool on the deck and a relaxation lounge around an open stone fireplace. Treatments include aromatherapy, warm stone therapies and pregnancy care.
Sports & leisure
The infinity pool and guided walks along the national park trails are included. The lodge also arranges outings and masterclasses:
- a guided climb of Mount Cordeaux, 4WD tours to Queen Mary Falls and at sunset, Can-Am off-road adventures, and Scenic Rim touring
- helicopter flights to Mount Mistake and over the wineries of the Scenic Rim and the Granite Belt, plus a Granite Belt wine trail
- bushcraft, billy tea and damper by the fire, and a picnic with a view
- cocktail, whisky and gin masterclasses, and a cellarmaster’s wine and cheese tasting
- an art appreciation tour and a tour of the lodge
Restaurants & bars
The Peak serves contemporary Australian cooking built on regional produce, premium seafood and native flavours, backed by an award-winning wine list. In-house guests have à la carte breakfast each morning, lunch daily and a chef’s tasting menu with matched wines at night; the signature seven-course lunch is also open to day visitors, while dinner is reserved for guests of the lodge.
Swimming
The infinity pool with its mountain outlook is open to all guests, and the private lodges each have their own outdoor spa.
Rooms
Six styles of accommodation: suites in the main lodge, including loft suites and an accessible suite, and standalone private lodges with one or two bedrooms.
Each has a king bed (twin on request), a marble bathroom with shower and heated towel rail, a flat-screen TV, a Bose speaker, a hairdryer, an iron, robes and slippers, complimentary Wi-Fi and a premium minibar included and replenished daily.

A suite with a bluestone fireplace, a private balcony and a marble bathroom with a shower and a separate spa bath.
Lodge Suites
A suite with a bluestone fireplace, a reading nook and workstation, and a private balcony with sweeping views over the valley to the distant ranges.

One of two suites tucked up in the main lodge beside the guest mezzanine, one facing the mountains and the other the farmland.
One Bedroom Private Lodge
A standalone lodge with a lounge, a separate bedroom, a double-sided fireplace, a kitchenette, an outdoor chaise and its own heated infinity spa. For two guests.
Two Bedroom Private Lodge
A standalone lodge on the escarpment edge above Spicers Gap, with two king bedrooms each with its own ensuite, a large lounge with a bluestone fireplace, a kitchenette and an outdoor Jacuzzi.
