Park Hyatt Melbourne

About this hotel

General information

Park Hyatt Melbourne stands on Parliament Square in the city’s central business district, overlooking St Patrick’s Cathedral, the Fitzroy Gardens and Melbourne’s blend of Victorian and modern architecture. Interiors marry art deco elegance with contemporary comfort: wood-panelled walls and, in some rooms and suites, fireplaces and Juliet balconies.

There are 245 rooms and suites, and even the entry-level 48 m² rooms rank among the most spacious in the city. Park Club Health & Day Spa occupies the ninth floor, and the 25-metre pool beneath an Italian mosaic has its own sundeck. Six event spaces — among them a library, a study, a lounge and a ballroom for 310 — host meetings and weddings. Dogs are warmly welcomed.

Location

In central Melbourne on Parliament Square, beside St Patrick’s Cathedral. The Fitzroy Gardens are two minutes away on foot, the Melbourne Cricket Ground and Rod Laver Arena a few minutes further, and the boutiques of Collins Street close by.

Spa

Park Club Health & Day Spa on the ninth floor has six treatment spaces, including a couples’ suite. Its approach blends ancient wisdom with modern techniques across facials, restorative body therapies and massage, alongside hair and nail services. Before a treatment, guests can use the pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna.

Sports & leisure

A gym, a heated 25-metre indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Two minutes away are the 26-hectare Fitzroy Gardens with their conservatory, statues and fountains; Arts Centre Melbourne is nearby, and the Yarra riverside trails at Kew lie 5 km from the hotel.

Restaurants & bars

The Lounge & Garden serves seasonal food from light bites and salads to burgers, seafood pasta and grills, as well as a signature high tea. radii Restaurant & Bar hosts breakfast — a buffet plus à la carte dishes such as Dutch baby pancakes — and in the evening becomes a bar for cocktails, wine and spirits. In-room dining is also available.

Swimming

A heated 25-metre indoor pool beneath an Italian mosaic, with an adjoining sundeck.

Pets

Dogs stay in selected standard rooms, with a bed, bowls, a toy and a welcome treat, plus a dedicated in-room dining menu for dogs. Charlie, the hotel’s resident dog, is often around to greet them.
