General information
Palacio Duhau - Park Hyatt Buenos Aires occupies two buildings on Avenida Alvear in aristocratic Recoleta. The historic palace, built in 1934 to designs by the French architect Léon Dourge, is one of the few surviving mansions of the city’s old elite; beside it stands the contemporary Posadas building. A multi-level garden, Duhau Gardens, with old trees and a cascading fountain, spreads between the two, and underground they are linked by Paseo de las Artes Duhau, a gallery for changing exhibitions.
There are 165 rooms and suites. The palace keeps its plaster cornices, crystal chandeliers, oak panelling, frescoes and fireplaces, and its guests are looked after by a personal butler. A private collection of more than twenty museum-quality works runs through the interiors. Beyond the restaurants and bar, the hotel has Ahín Wellness & Spa with an indoor pool, a quiet library, La Biblioteca, the Florería del Duhau flower boutique and the Duhau Pâtisserie.
Location
On Avenida Alvear in Recoleta, one of Buenos Aires’ most refined neighbourhoods, among museums, parks and restaurants. Casa Rosada is about 2.5 km away and the San Telmo flea market about 3.7 km. Aeroparque Jorge Newbery is 7 km from the hotel and Ezeiza International Airport 34 km; the hotel arranges airport transfers with multilingual staff.
Spa
Ahín Wellness & Spa takes its name from a Mapuche word for a ritual that honours a guest, and its treatments draw on the ancestral knowledge of that culture. The menu covers massages, body treatments, rituals and private meditation sessions; the spa has five treatment rooms, an indoor pool heated to 29 °C and a modern gym.
Sports & leisure
A gym and an indoor pool at Ahín Wellness & Spa, hotel bikes for exploring the city, and tastings of Argentine wines and cheeses at La Vinoteca. Paseo de las Artes Duhau hosts changing exhibitions, and the concierge arranges tickets and tours to the theatres, museums and landmarks of Recoleta and the city centre.
For children
A rollaway bed for a child under 12 can be added to the room and a baby cot is available on request. Among the family outings the hotel suggests are the Galileo Galilei Planetarium and MALBA, the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires.

Three restaurants, a bar and a pastry shop work with seasonal local produce, and in good weather tables move out onto the terraces above Duhau Gardens.
